About me I am Armando Liques, a member of the Hornocal-Pueblo Omaguaca Native Community. I was born in Calete and grew up in a little house located in the ravine at the foot of the hill of 14 colors. My father and mother dedicated their whole lives to agriculture, they planted peas, beans, potatoes, they were among the first to plant carrots, my brothers and I helped them. When classes started, we would go down to Calete through a narrow and colorful ravine known as “El Angosto”. To attend high school, I had to move to Humahuaca, being able to return to my Hornocal only on vacation. I felt very sad every time I had to leave. I lived 20 years in Buenos Aires, there I learned the baker’s trade. When the original community of Hornocal began the procedures for its legal status, I met Dr. Eulogio Frites, father of indigenous law, I was the manager of the community in the city of fury. In 2005, I decided to return to my land, just arrived I dedicated myself to agriculture like my parents. He planted and sold peas, beans and potatoes, only to exchange for sugar, rice or flour. In […]

About me I am María Argamonte, I was born in the original community of Valiazo, and I grew up in Pucara with my grandparents. They bequeathed me the knowledge of two wonderful tasks that today are the basis of my family finances. My grandmother was dedicated to cattle raising, she raised sheep and goats: she sheared her sheep, spun wool and wove socks, pullovers and vests; with the milk of the goats he made delicious cheeses. My grandfather was engaged in agriculture, he grew potatoes, corn, and peas. He was also a potter and a potter, he made pots, virques, and clay and stone plates. He was a very skillful person, he wove sheep and llama ponchos, blankets and picotes on his loom. I am dedicated to agriculture and goat farming. I decided to venture into tourism because I saw in this activity an alternative source of income and an opportunity to share the valuable knowledge that my grandparents left me. About My Experience I have raised goats since my childhood, I learned everything about them with my grandmother. They are currently my source of livelihood. I take them out every day so that they can eat tender grasses that […]

About me My name is Enrique Lamas, I am a beekeeper and farmer of Andean and agro-ecological crops. I was born in Hornocal, I grew up and lived a large part of my life in this place. I currently distribute my life between the communities of Hornocal and San Roque El Morado, as required by my family, my plants, animals and bees. I decided to undertake in Tourism because I see in this activity, the opportunity to have an income that contributes to my family economy. I like to meet and interact with people from other places, I also like to share my knowledge, I learned that as a representative of the communities, mainly in instances of cooperative work. I invite you to visit my land, to know and experience my work as a farmer of Andean and agroecological crops and to connect with an activity in which I have ventured with great love several years ago, beekeeping. About me I am Clementina Zerpa, I was born and raised in Chorcán, very close to Aparzo, the original community to which I now belong. I like animals a lot. I started as a llama breeder about eight years ago at the insistence of my children. Before I was dedicated to raising cows, I had an important farm that my father had inherited, but they were dying. My children, sad at first, gave me the idea of buying llamas. So it was that we brought eight from Casillas, currently there are about two hundred. I dedicate myself to taking care of them, I take them out to the hill so that they can eat good and abundant grass, so that they can raise young. I decided to dedicate myself to tourism to obtain another income and share the beautiful walks that I take every day by taking my llamas to “pastiar”. About my experience Llamas are very tame animals, they usually walk calmly every day to where the shepherdess guides them and wait for her without going too far until the afternoon when she returns to look for them to take them back to the corral. I invite you to […]
