Destinos y actividades de turismo comunitario en la provincia de Jujuy, Argentina.
Aparzo is the oldest town in the region, its existence dates back to colonial times and its church from the year 1617 accounts for it. Its inhabitants affirm that its name has some relation to the fact that it is a place “passing through”. And it is very likely that it was an important stop within the colonial road system, towards the important urban centers of the time such as Humahuaca or San Ramón de la Nueva Orán. Located at 4,002 m.a.s.l., the topography of Aparzo shows the transition from the ravine to the puna, observing a predominance of livestock activity over agriculture. The locals raise cattle that are transhumed between the valleys of Salta and the surrounding “cienegos”; and some families have recently dabbled in camelid farming. Aparzo is an original community, located 46 km from the city of Humahuaca. It is an obligatory place of passage on the route of Provincial Route No. 73 towards Santa Ana, it is also a passage of Provincial Route No. 73 B towards Laguna de Leandro. About me I am Clementina Zerpa, I was born and raised in Chorcán, very close to Aparzo, the original community to which I now belong. I like animals a lot. I started as a llama breeder about eight years ago at the insistence of my children. Before I was dedicated to raising cows, I had an important farm that my father had inherited, but they were dying. My children, sad at first, gave me the idea of buying llamas. So it was that we brought eight from Casillas, currently there are about two hundred. I dedicate myself to taking care of them, I take them out to the hill so that they can eat good and abundant grass, so that they can raise young. I decided to dedicate myself to tourism to obtain another income and share the beautiful walks that I take every day by taking my llamas to “pastiar”. About my experience Llamas are very tame animals, they usually walk calmly every day to where the shepherdess guides them and wait for her without going too far until the afternoon when she returns to look for them to take them back to the corral. I invite you to […]
