The tourism entrepreneurs of the Cianzo community want to share the richness of its history, the majesty of its landscapes and the wisdom of their work with the land through a tour of the territories of their community in which they will be able to appreciate traces of pre-Hispanic times. , get acquainted with stories of the struggle for the independence of the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata and learn more about the current customs of the inhabitants of this beautiful agricultural oasis.
Location:
This circuit is located within the community of Cianzo, 50 km. from the city of Humahuaca, in a narrow and fertile valley, formed between the Hornocal and Aparzo mountains by the Cianzo River, a tributary of the Grande River.
Detailed description of the circuit:
Our starting point will be the community room. Through a local road full of trees that act as curtains for the stubble, we will go to the jet, a place named after the waterfall that forms when it rains. There, we can rest and appreciate pre-Hispanic cave paintings. We will resume the tour and ascend to the Pucará de Puerta de Zenta, where we will contemplate the ruins of a pre-Hispanic citadel and the majesty of the Cianzo valley. As we descend we will find the rodeo corral, where the donkey rodeo takes place every year after Carnival. We will return along the local road observing and talking about the stubble and the main activity of the community: agriculture.
Difficulty level: Low. Although it is not an intense route, its duration and some sections of the journey, such as the ascent to the jet or the Pucará de Puerta de Zenta, can be difficult for people who have never hiked in the mountains.

The activity can take place all year round. The rains usually happen, from December to March and it is not frequent that it rains during the day, however, during these months the activity will be subject to rain.
According to the climate of the region, the recommended time to tour this circuit is:
