The circuit to the old mine is a route that can be done as a walk or horseback ride of approximately 5 km round trip. It starts from the Plaza de Santa Ana by the RP 73 and it is diverted by a mule track to the mine camp and the main sinkhole less than 2 km away. The old constructions of the miners, the places where the mineral was ground and the tunnels are visited. The main sinkhole has a depth of 50 m. This mine began operations in 1947 and extracted silver, zinc, lead and copper. The ground minerals were loaded onto donkeys and lowered into the Narrow. There they were washed to later take them to Humahuaca where they were loaded onto the train.
